What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in just 3 years it’s been, in the words of Forbes, “silently changing the online marketing market.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it easier for organisations and entrepreneurs to offer things online using otherwise complicated marketing technology, called sales funnels (more on those in a second).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as popular as his creation, and for good factor. He’s made a fortune, not just from ClickFunnels, but other marketing adventures. He experimented with email marketing for a while, and ultimately started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the successful author of DotCom Secrets and Expert Secrets, two books that his fans rave about and that guide people through his marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets on Amazon here (with over 400 evaluations) or complimentary on his website here. Get Expert Secrets from Amazon here or free on his site here.
ClickFunnels started as a method to help Brunson and his group create funnels more quickly for various ventures, as establishing funnels would generally take weeks. Nevertheless, they soon recognized their creation would be useful to others and had terrific potential as a product.
What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Prior to continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a process that takes individuals who do not understand you and turns them into customers, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of steps designed to guide a website visitor to the checkout page.
Step 1: Imagine a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is in truth a metaphor, and instead of real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical active ingredients you call web traffic or website visitors.
That still does not turn numerous of your visitors into consumers. In a physical shop, that’s like individuals strolling into your store but not knowing where the cash register is, so they leave the store without buying anything. In a physical shop, you can talk your customers into purchasing something.
In a digital shop, you may be a little bit more distant from your visitors. This is where your funnel is available in– it’s designed to appeal to your consumers’ through principles of psychology. The funnel works detailed, bring traffic in closer and better up until visitors wind up at a payment page.
If you think this sounds cool, you’re right– it’s become a huge deal for internet marketing. Russell Brunson didn’t just get rich by offering ClickFunnels technology, but by utilizing it too.
Pros– ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some good news: ClickFunnels does its task!
ClickFunnels is meant to save you time and energy– to do what otherwise requires a great deal of technological efficiency and/or a range of 3rd party applications. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
Among the very best features of ClickFunnels is its focus on making money for the user. They make it extremely simple to make your account, installed your content, and begin taking payments. Plus, it’s quite simple to choose everything up– it’ll most likely take you a couple hours to figure out most of what you require, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
Their page contractor is a pretty essential function, and they’ve pulled it off well. When you get used to it, it’s an easy to utilize drag and drop contractor.
Built in A/B screening is great too. All you need to do is duplicate a page, make your changes, and select the amounts of your traffic you want to see variation A or B.
Great choice of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels manages API combinations quite well. Email autoresponders and payment processors aren’t too much of a sweat– they work dependably and are easy to manage.
You’ll also discover a helpful WordPress plugin that lets you add ClickFunnels pages to your WordPress site. It saves a lot of time and is much less of a hassle than working between ClickFunnels and WordPress without a plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also ranked a strong 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin repository, with over 20,000 active setups.
Overall, it’s great to have things so centralized: I can develop my landing pages, develop kinds and order forms, and set off emails all from one platform.
All of this actually does save you money and time, resources you ‘d otherwise need to invest in developers, CSS, hosting setups, and so on.
You can feel confident the lower-tiered account is a great financial investment– what you’re permitted a StartUp account is pretty good. If you have more than 20,000 visitors and require over 100 pages, the full suite may not be too much to ask.
ClickFunnels is not perfect, however it does a fantastic task of product packaging terrific tools together and making them available. It probably conserves most users a headache they ‘d have if they tried to handle funnels another method.
Cons– Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some problem: although ClickFunnels is overall strong, it has many locations that require work.
A little drawback is the price. There are just two prices alternatives, at either $97 a month or $297 a month. In the grand scheme of things, this is not a big drawback, just another financial investment in your company, and like I’ve stated, you get an excellent bundle for it.
Lackluster Customer Service
Beyond that, consumer assistance is undecided at best. In my experience, they’ve been fine with basic concerns, however if you ask them more difficult things, particularly about advanced functions, they will not be really helpful.
Cult-like user base and software too dependent on Founder
This is not an unbiased criticism of their product but I take a small problem with their marketing that I believe is worth discussing in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get drawn into among their funnels, it’s tough to get away the buzz surrounding it. They have a fantastic marketing for sure. From a user experience perspective, it can get meddlesome. Once you register for the software application, you can attempt to look at the objective functions of the software and incorporate it into your own workflow, or you’ll be lost and required to discover Russell Brunson’s marketing approaches.
This means you’ll find yourself buying online courses, books, going to seminars, and getting drawn into the ClickFunnels “Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k members and many posts includes individuals extoling how much cash they made and flashing their sports cars. These numbers are real, the users give an impression that they’re more focused on making fast money rather than building fantastic items and services. ClickFunnels has actually assisted individuals do excellent things, but it’s likewise assisted multiply fast rich plans, online courses, saturation of coaches and professionals, and other spammy internet marketer stuff.
We all know the founder is a marketing wizard, but so much of the item is tied to his brand and his viewpoint. As much as I value the landing page home builder, whatever around it appears like an extension of Brunson’s platform.
Sometimes it’s hard to not get the sensation that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than essential, specifically when some elements of their product (i.e., customer support) can still utilize some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels however more on the community. While you have the capability to customize thoroughly within ClickFunnels, many people utilize similar styles. Thinking about the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a large amount of ClickFunnel-y looks drifting around. Variety is very important.
Software Application Outages and Bugs
Every so often, ClickFunnels will decrease or experience some errors. This actually does not take place typically, there’s little you can do but wait. If you’re investing a lot in marketing or driving traffic to your funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings your pages down for even a few hours, you can possibly lose a lot of money.
It’s likewise hard to understand when your pages are working or not, unless you constantly examine or wait until you hear from angry consumers. Barring uptime, I also deal with some problems when I clone pages utilizing the HTML publishing alternative.
User experience modifications … a lot
The dashboard modifications typically, the flow of developing new pages and funnels changes, a button will move, pricing alternatives modification, etc– and it seems ClickFunnels is still figuring things out.
I like consistency in my software, especially if it’s a company service.
Way too Simple
Finally, a criticism I’ve heard however do not quite agree with personally: it’s too basic, and too expensive for its simpleness. These criticisms tend to describe diy approaches which can be less expensive upfront and yield more control over handling certain information. For less experienced users who are generally looking for performance and a simple to use package of tools, I wouldn’t highlight this too strongly.
ClickFunnels Pricing – How much does ClickFunnels cost?
ClickFunnels has 2 rates plans– StartUp and ClickFunnels Platinum Suite, alternatively known as ClickFunnels and Full Suite– and even StartUp starts on the pricier side. If you pay yearly rather of regular monthly, you get 2 months free ($ 997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Suite).
Well, some would say so, and I can see why– specifically if you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not similar) service which starts at $25 a month. It is essential to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to make funnels more efficient, and it does a quite good job.
The main differences in between an entry level account and a premium account are as follows: StartUp gets the main service, the funnel-builder, with some constraints on the quantity of pages (100 ), visits (20,000), custom domains (3 ), and just a few of the complete list of features.
However, both plans have limitless contacts, endless members, all advanced funnels, A/B split tests, and a few other commonness.
ClickFunnels Platinum/Full Suite has a full list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack feature that lets you define a product as a one-time payment item for your payment gateways); membership strategies (another Backpack function, but unlike one-time payments, this lets your consumers pay for a membership service); 3 SMTP combinations (StartUp has 1); endless funnels, pages, sees, and customized domains; top priority assistance and template demands; along with Follow-Up Funnels, FunnelFlix Training and Backpack.
If you’re puzzled with CLickFunnels Platinum/ Full Suite, don’t fret, it is confusing. This part I think ClickFunnels could really tidy up. We’ll go into more information in the following section of this ClickFunnels evaluation.
To summarize the differences, StartUp essentially brings the core feature of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Suite, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone tool ClickFunnels with 3 other services– Follow-Up Funnels, FunnelFlix Training and Backpack– and also offers you the full set of ClickFunnels features. You can see the complete official list here.
Functions Overview– Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ functions overall? I think they’re strong and you get everything you require.
A/B split screening is a smaller feature, however absolutely a notable one.
If you replicate a page and make changes to the copy, the split test basically lets you choose what portions of your traffic you wish to see per page, letting you test conversion rates very easily. It’s a fantastic function and extremely easy to use.
I also believe ClickFunnels is overall versatile and straightforward for other settings, like your account details or combinations. Perhaps really tech literate people would find them limiting (a typical theme amongst some criticisms), however as the service is supposed to be easy to use, I believed the standard functions were pretty good.
There are several types of available pre-made funnels, oriented to different types of services, and you can of course build your own funnel from scratch too.
Follow-Up Funnels and Backpack
I’ll just take a minute in this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. In my opinion, Full Suite is 3 products being packaged together as one: ClickFunnels, Follow-Up Funnels, and Backpack.
What is Follow-Up Funnels? Well, it’s what many would call an e-mail auto-responder or simply an auto-responder, but it’s a bit more complicated. The primary goal of Follow-Up Funnels is smart analytics that result in wise auto-responding, however the auto-responding includes snail mail along with e-mail, and a few other goodies. In Addition To Follow-Up Funnels comes Backpack (formerly Backpack CRM), a tool expected to make handling an affiliate program simpler and more efficient.
Are these features, or different items? Follow-Up Funnels sounds a bit like ClickFunnels trying to sell an iffy email auto-responder to me, however perhaps I’m simply cynical. In any case, it makes Full Suite a bit complicated and eliminates the coherency you get with the original ClickFunnels.

Clickfunnels Review– Page Builder
This is most likely ClickFunnels’ main feature, so I wanted to dedicate special attention to it. In fact, I believe a large part of why I gave ClickFunnels a high score relates to it being a really solid landing page contractor. ClickFunnels ranges itself from page structure software application and promotes its funnel approach, however fact be informed, I use it primarily for this landing page builder.
Anyway, there is rather an array of templates with good styles, though as you may expect, only the templates developed by ClickFunnels are complimentary. Templates are organized by funnel type, so poking around isn’t too hard.
You can likewise save particular templates and make personal page templates, and it’s quite simple to find them. As you can see, you can toggle with basic settings and open in the editor.
Once you open your pages in the editor, you’ll essentially be dealing with a drag and drop home builder. It’s a little more complicated than some other light page builders, but it’s still easy to use.
The editor utilizes a page structure with 4 main parts: areas, rows, columns, and aspects. Think about these parts as fitting within each other (this short article has an useful diagram). Generally: rows, columns, and components go within areas. You can have several areas per page. Rows and columns go inside areas, but columns particularly go into rows. This way you can have a row with one column, or as much as 4. Aspects are the vibrant bits that go inside columns and make your page interactive to its visitors.
It may sound complex, but it’s pretty easy to get the hang of. Everything is color-coded– for instance, in the above screenshot, the choice is a light green box due to the fact that it’s an area, however if I was hovering over a component, it would be orange.
You can likewise edit by section, row, column, and so on, via the side bar. All the little details and parts of your page can be moved or changed.
A small criticism I’ve heard (but don’t have personally) on the home builder is how grid-like it is– you need to work within those columns and rows. I personally do not believe this is a substantial problem and the builder provides you enough manage without compromising ease of use, however it might be worth a reference.
Overall, I like the page home builder a lot. It makes developing your landing page extremely simple, and it serves ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it simpler for you to make money online.
Integrations are exactly what they seem like: other marketing tools you incorporate into the ClickFunnels software application. There are a couple of different types of combinations you can contribute to your ClickFunnels account: e-mail, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. For example, you might add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels because you like MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you are signed up with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has quite a few significant partners you can add to your combinations easily. Here’s a complete list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your combinations section, you can look for these or just click the search bar, and they’ll come up. It’s pretty obvious, simply click the one you desire and add it.
The process for managing integrations is also simple, though you may need to inspect your third party software’s paperwork to find exactly what ClickFunnels requires. In general, you’ll find the process pretty easy. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than some features, such as the page builder, so it’s much valued to have a really easy way of including and managing combinations.
Related to integrations are payment entrances. Payment entrances get incorporated and on other software application platforms are simply called combinations, however on ClickFunnels they get a section separate from integrations. They might also be understood to ClickFunnels as billing combinations. Payment gateways are likewise what they sound like: they’re the combinations that permit your customers to spend for your stuff. Your store will not truly be much of a store unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A list of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing all of these integrations is pretty easy– as long as you’re all set up with whatever tool you are trying to integrate with, you shouldn’t have any issues adding it to ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations usually run smoothly and you don’t require to stress much about them.
Alleviate of Use– ClickFunnels Review
If you have not picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ main sell is its ease of use– as their advertisement says, “Don’t lose any more time with ‘tech men!'” As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the main service ClickFunnels provides is supplying tools that allow the less skilled to conserve time and money. That being the case, examining ease of use is pretty crucial.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, however you need to still have some experience.
Longer response: For a first-timer, it might be a bit frustrating– and by first-timer, I indicate new to the world of e-commerce and marketing– but the finding out curve is far from impossible. For most people, I would state the knowing curve would be simply a couple hours max. If you’re really behind, get Russell Brunson’s books discussed previously in the review.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is certainly much easier than creating funnels by yourself. They have a fair quantity of documentation, and it might not be best, but it appears to me like most questions ought to be covered, and you can always contact a customer care representative if it pertains to it.
All of that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are quite easy to get a hang of. The core features of ClickFunnels– the real funnels– are relatively simple to handle. A cohesive menu makes it simple to browse to all parts of your funnel handling procedure, from selecting templates to the drag and drop editor.
Some settings relating to e-mail integrations or payment processors will require a bit of understanding, however it’s no place near the amount of knowledge you would need to in fact code the funnels– it’s things you can figure out by Googling around or going to the docs.
Eventually, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly easy, however it is general streamlined with an instinctive user-interface. They do tend to change things regularly, however it probably will not be enough to significantly hamper you.
We provide it a 4 out of 5 in ease of use. It integrates option and customizability with benefit, and while I would suggest all prospective users enter with some fundamental technological literacy, it essentially prospers where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who actually stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and start-ups (speaking from experience here) will get the most utilize out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel types that attract some companies more than others.
Professional, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals solely in e-commerce or network marketing, and even those providing B2B services would probably be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels in general does well with those offering more innovative items or independent endeavors. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards these markets: for example, if you’re a floral designer, you might find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a good way of marketing for you. If you’re attempting to focus whatever around yourself and your brand, there would be good support too. The very same goes for individuals offering content like courses or books.
Naturally, you can constantly start from a blank funnel, and I don’t believe you must decide if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based purely on their default funnel types. If you’re a smaller service, fine with the cost, and you need to make your traffic work for you better, I question you ‘d be losing your cash or time with ClickFunnels. I would particularly recommend it to anyone who wishes to maintain a better landing page.
Client Support– ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ consumer support is a location that consists of some nuances. Their docs page has a series of classifications, each with their own articles.
As for the direct client service, they have a chat feature inside the control panel after you visit, but I’m not too happy with it. They’ve normally been valuable for simple concerns and standard troubleshooting … but when I’ve had more advanced questions, I’ve found them pretty unhelpful. With one specific HTML publishing question, they took 3 months to get back to me. By then, I determined a workaround. Most users won’t require that sort of support and to be honest, most SaaS business do not offer that level of assistance. I offer ClickFunnels kudos for attempting.
Additionally, I’ve noticed a consistency amongst reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer service. Notably, in circumstances when features have not worked as guaranteed or when there were strange website malfunctions, customer support associates were apparently either unresponsive or unhelpful. One infamous customer in particular states how, due to site error, some of his clients were locked out and how other non-paying visitors accessed to members-only material. When he got in touch with customer care, he found they were apathetic and unhelpful. It may be a weird, improbable scenario, however it illustrates the point.
General Support Rating
I would not state ClickFunnels stops working in client assistance– I think the group mostly understand that their services are not completely easy to use and/or include tools new to their users, and they have put sufficient resources into their support to make it good. At least fundamental concerns will be addressed, and they’re pretty responsive. Perhaps most users, myself consisted of, would not state ClickFunnels has remarkable customer support, but it mostly fulfills a bare minimum that makes it at least good enough. In this classification, we provide it a 3 out of 5 stars.
ClickFunnels Vs. Leadpages
Now, let’s take a look at how ClickFunnels and Leadpages matches up head to head.
There are a couple aspects that I believe most people will take a look at … Price and ease of use.
When it concerns cost, Leadpages is the winner. It is a bit more affordable than Clickfunnels.
There’s a reason why Leadpages is so much cheaper. It’s not almost as robust as ClickFunnels.
ClickFunnels is a lot easier than Leadpages. You don’t need a different web host or a separate email marketing or a different shopping cart option. Heck, you don’t even need a different affiliate program. Everything is consisted of in one bundle. Keep in mind from earlier, if you determine how much you ‘d pay for all of these tools separately, you ‘d actually end up investing less by choosing ClickFunnels. You ‘d combine about $1,441/ month of fees into one ClickFunnels membership.
If you look at it that way, ClickFunnels is quite budget-friendly in its own.
I do think Leadpages is an incredible option in some scenarios. If you want to crank out landing pages rapidly, without much customization, LeadPages is excellent. This is originally what it was created for … Simply select a page that’s currently been made for you, that’s shown to transform, plug your own text and images into it, and drive traffic. The charm is in the simpleness and absence of alternatives.
So, which should you choose?
Choose ClickFunnels if you want to create a series of efficient, conversion optimized funnel pages without learning HTML.
Opt for Leadpages if you’re looking for a budget marketing choice that finishes the job. Produce gorgeous sales pages without understanding a lick of code.
Choose ClickFunnels if you don’t wish to patch together a gazillion various systems to develop a frankenstein marketing program. You’ll conserve a lot of time with an all-in-one option, due to the fact that it’s very time-consuming to run backward and forward in between programs, attempting to make them speak to each other.
Choose Leadpages if you only require to produce a simple one-step landing page.
Go with ClickFunnels if you want to produce a real funnel with several pages, together with the versatility to rearrange the pages in your funnel.
ClickFunnels vs Builderall
Builderall and Clickfunnels are different in that they both use various things or rather various amounts of things.
Builderall takes the technique of offering as lots of digital marketing services as possible. You can do anything from creating a marketing funnel to creating your own app.
Whereas Clickfunnels take a ‘less is more’ position. They offer a focused, detailed and reliable marketing funnel and email marketing service.
One technical element they share is the drag and drop part for simple customisation.
We are going to talk you through the Builderall vs Clickfunnels argument. Hopefully, by doing so, we can assist you choose which software would be much better fit to your organisation.
One reason Builderall is excellent is it permits you to keep on top of a big proportion of your digital marketing technique … all in one location. You can develop marketing funnels, create blog sites, design and automate your e-mail marketing and even develop apps.
Along with allowing you to develop auto-responses for your email campaigns, it uses Facebook combination. You can, for that reason, keep on top of your social media leads as well without having to lift a finger.
Comparable to Clickfunnels, Builderall provides an affiliate program for users. With it being largely new, becoming an affiliate would be beneficial as all their cash presently goes towards the program.
Clickfunnels do not need an additional fee to be an affiliate. If you are a paying member of their software then you immediately have access to their affiliate program.
General though, Builderall’s rates are very reasonable. You basically receive more digital marketing tools, for a lower expense.
Now we’ve talked through the Clickfunnels vs Builderall dispute, let’s amount up which one you must go for. If you are a little independent organisation with a limited spending plan and time to spare to wrap your head around Builderall, then go for that one.
Nevertheless, if you are an established or growing company wanting to broaden legally … Clickfunnels is the one for you. There need to be a good reason that all the big names use the software and it is down to the large quality and results that Clickfunnels’ items bring. The fact that Builderall provides such a big quantity of functions suggests they spread themselves thin.
Clickfunnels concentrate on a number of elements and ensure they are used at a high requirement. So if marketing funnels are your focus, it goes without saying that you ought to go for the software application with the funnel feature being the main focus.
Eventually, the decision as to which digital marketing funnel tool wins the Builderall vs Clickfunnels argument is all to you. The nature and status of your company will all identify the very best one for you.
Conclusion– ClickFunnels Review
So, what’s the overarching decision? It’s good– 4 out of 5 stars! It’s a genuine contender in the marketing software area and worth experimenting with.
Yeah, there are a couple of downsides: If you require a more hands-on solution to your marketing requires with higher customization capabilities, you may wish to check out 3rd party options you can loop. If you are choosing ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself unlucky and wind up dealing with unhelpful customer service agents, or some glitches in the software. You might also be frustrated by their self-promotion.
You know what? Considering everything, I don’t believe any of these surpass the strong landing page contractor, let alone other positives such as the short learning curve, solid combinations, and great templates.
I’m quite sure that for the large majority of potential users, the page builder uses adequate choice. If you’re looking initially and foremost for a simple but solid sales option or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is an excellent tool.
